Matt started his music career in Seattle well before grunge....well, before pre-grunge. He played in many different bands, his fav being The Feds, a west coast foursome that ripped up the west coast. His definition of the bass player's role never did fit the normal " bass is nothing but filling the lower register" scheme, to him the bass is both rhythm and lead. Ok, so... he went from a 4 to a 5 string...to a 6 string bass, will the madness never end? No, he saw an eleven string online last week...nevermind.
After playing the west coast for many years, Matt moved to Minnesota(dontcha know), where he did a few years with original C.M. bands, before joining Sonik (with a K) Envy in 2005. Here is where he is happy, great bunch of guys, great band...what else could a bassist want?
